If there was ever a photo that symbolizes the Jewish people's enduring strength and resilience, this one says it all. Shown here is Holocaust survivor Fela Sacks, who will be celebrating her 99th birthday in May, receiving her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from her granddaughter, Dr. Jordana Sacks. The Pfizer vaccine was developed under the leadership of Albert Bourla, the son of Greek Holocaust survivors.

As International Holocaust Remembrance Day approaches, this photograph is an opportunity for us to reflect on the strength of survivors and the lives they built for themselves and their families and all the contributions they and their descendants have made toward bettering our world. It displays a powerful, life-affirming moment in time of a Holocaust survivor and two generations of descendants coming together and reminding us of the Jewish people's triumph over evil and adversity.
