TORONTO (May 11, 2018) - Friendsof Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) has learned that an antisemitic slur paintedthis past week in Mississauga is being investigated as a hate crime.
The graffiti, along with othervulgar images, was painted in the area of Lisgar Meadowbook Trail and OspreyMarsh.
“We commend the police and citystaff who recognize that this hateful graffiti is unacceptable and are takingsteps to find the culprits,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo.“Community members must be vigilant and always report any displays of hatred,no matter how minor they think it is.”
FSWC has confirmed that PeelRegional Police are continuing to look for the culprits. Ward 10 CityCouncillor Sue McFadden announced a $500 award for any information that willhelp police find and arrest those responsible for the graffiti.
