Police Investigating Threats Against Jewish Community in Waterloo Region and Guelph

A 17-year-old boy was arrested by Waterloo Region police after Hillel Ontario reported more than 100 threats it received through its website, aimed at Jewish community members at the University of Guelph and University of Waterloo. The suspect has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Bradford Students Learn to Avoid ‘Small Seeds of Hate’

FSWC's Tour for Humanity visited a school in Bradford, Ont. yesterday, where students learned about the Holocaust and how it didn't start with ghettos or concentration camps or killing — it started with words. "That’s how these types of things start — when those small seeds of hate add up and start to grow," FSWC educator Ariel Roitman said to a split Grade 6/7 class. "It’s so important for us to always be thinking about the way we treat and talk to others, especially people that are different from us."

Toronto Storefront Plastered with Anti-Israel Stickers for Second Time in Two Months

The Toronto Police Service Hate Crime Unit is actively investigating after a Jewish-owned business in Toronto's Junction neighbourhood, Healthy Moms Market, was targeted with antisemitic vandalism. The store was plastered with hateful stickers on Sunday evening. "This cowardly act of hate and intimidation only strengthens the Jewish community's resolve to stand united against antisemitism," FSWC said in an online post.

Some Charges Dropped in Indigo Protest Because of Reparations, Guilty Pleas: Crown

Charges were dropped Thursday against three people accused of defacing a downtown Indigo store in 2023, with Crown prosecutors saying the individuals have "made reparations to the community by way of charitable donations" and "the most culpable individuals" in the larger group of accused entered guilty pleas in the case.

Neo-Nazi Terror Propagandist 'Dark Foreigner' Guilty on All Counts

A 27-year-old Ottawa man has been found guilty of participating in terrorist activity, facilitating terrorist activity and inciting hate against Jews for one or more terrorist entities. The man had created racist recruitment videos and other propaganda for a now defunct far-right international terrorist group, Atomwaffen Division, and a prominent neo-Nazi, James Mason.

Police-Reported Hate Crimes Against Jews Increased Sharply in 2023: Statistics Canada

Despite making up just one per cent of Canada’s population, the Jewish community saw a staggering 71 per cent rise in antisemitic incidents and was the most targeted group for hate crimes in 2023, according to Statistics Canada's recently published "Police-reported hate crime in Canada, 2023" report.

Ex-Hostage Amit Soussana Receives US’s International Woman of Courage Award

Former Hamas hostage and sexual assault survivor Amit Soussana was one of eight women from around the world presented with the 2025 International Woman of Courage Award at yesterday's US State Department ceremony in Washington, DC. She called for global actions to secure the immediate release of the remaining captives in Gaza.
