Police Probe Possible Hate Crime Over Graffiti Outside London School

A hate crime investigation is underway after police in London, Ont. arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with antisemitic graffiti discovered at a public school on Saturday. The man was also reportedly seen screaming and shouting in the area.

Activists Praise Ismail Haniyeh at Montreal, Toronto Rallies

Activists praised and mourned slain Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh at rallies marking 300 days of the Israel-Hamas war in Toronto and Montreal over the weekend. In Montreal, speakers were also heard calling for the destruction of Israel and chanting, "Long live the intifada! Long live the resistance!" Meanwhile, in Toronto, demonstrators were seen stomping on the Israeli flag and holding up signs that read "Zionism will fall," featuring a red triangle, and "Long live legal armed resistance."

"The open glorification of terror seen in Toronto and Montreal this past weekend is utterly deplorable," FSWC stated in an online post. "This is not peaceful protest. Mayors Olivia Chow and Valérie Plante must speak out and take action against the hate and violence incited on their city streets."

Nine UNRWA Staff Members Were Possibly Involved in Attack on Israel, UN Says

Nine staff members of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNWRA) have been fired, the United Nations said on Monday, with its deputy spokesperson declaring that "the evidence was sufficient to conclude that they may have been involved in the seventh of October attacks."

Decades After Holocaust, Romani Community Struggles for Recognition of Its Genocide

While the Nazi murder of Jewish people in the Holocaust is widely commemorated, relatively few countries mark the Aug. 2 memorial day of Samudaripen, which marks the day in 1944 when around 3,000 Roma and Sinti people were murdered in the gas chambers at the Auschwitz death camp and the imprisonment, torture and murder of some 500,000 Romani people during the Second World War. Activists are working to change that.

Western Ambassadors Pull Out of Nagasaki Memorial After Israel Not Invited

The US and British embassies said on Wednesday their ambassadors would not take part in the ceremony marking the 79th anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki, as a result of Israeli Ambassador to Japan Gilad Cohen not being invited. The two countries will be represented by lower-ranking diplomats, with media reports claiming Australia, Italy, Canada and the European Union will be following suit.
