German White Supremacist Is Sentenced to Life for Synagogue Attack
Justice was served in Germany this week after a court sentenced Stephan Balliet - a neo-Nazi gunman who attempted to commit a massacre at a synagogue on Yom Kippur and murdered two civilians last year, and who has denied the Holocaust and shown zero remorse for his actions - to life in prison with no eligibility for parole.
FSWC Response to Canada's UNRWA Funding Announcement
Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is concerned by Monday's announcement that Canada will be increasing its funding to UNRWA despite ongoing questions about the agency's accountability and transparency and continuing reports of antisemitic incitement being taught to Palestinian students in UNRWA-funded schools.
While we value and support Canada’s commitment to humanitarian aid efforts, especially during the pandemic, FSWC urges Canada to take a leadership role in pushing for the reform of UNRWA, including a re-working of the organization’s core mandate which perpetuates Palestinian rejectionism and undermines the prospects for peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
Simon Wiesenthal Center Supports Puma, JCDecaux Amid BDS Campaign
Simon Wiesenthal Center has sent letters of support to sportswear firm Puma and outdoor advertiser JCDecaux due to an ongoing BDS campaign against them by a pro-Palestinian group. According to the letters written by the center's international relations director Dr. Shimon Samuels, the group is continuing its ongoing BDS campaign due to Puma being the equipment provider for the Israeli soccer team.
US-Israeli Delegation Makes History in Morocco, Signs Diplomatic and Economic Deals
A joint Israeli-American delegation met with senior officials in Morocco yesterday, as part of a move to normalize relations between Israel and Morocco. A trilateral declaration, which included an obligation to “resume full official contacts between Israeli and Moroccan counterparts” by the end of next month, was signed.

French prosecutors are investigating after a torrent of antisemitic social media messages were aimed at the Miss France competition runner-up, who said at the event that her father is of Israeli origin.
