Nazi Salute at Another Toronto School Prompts Call for Emergency Action Amid 'Wave of Antisemitism'

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center has called for "emergency action" from the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) after an escalation in antisemitic incidents, including a recent incident involving students giving the Nazi salute to a Jewish teacher.

We appreciate commitments made by the TDSB to work with community organizations and take a more proactive approach on the issue of rising antisemitism, and we are offering additional programs and resources to address this scourge of Jew-hatred in the Toronto school system.

Jewish Groups, Students Denounce University of Toronto Student Union’s Israel Boycott Vote

Jewish groups and students on Thursday denounced the University of Toronto Students’ Union for endorsing a discriminatory BDS motion. FSWC urged the university’s administration to focus its “full attention” on antisemitism, noting that the motion was the second of its kind passed by a U of T student government in less than three months.

Editor of Antisemitic and Misogynistic Your Ward News Back in Jail After Breaking Parole

James Sears, former editor of Your Ward News – a Toronto-based publication that promoted hatred against women and Jewish people – is back in jail after violating his parole by promoting hate speech. Sears was found guilty of two counts of promoting hatred in January 2019 and later sentenced to one year in prison.
