After 15 Months of War, Israel and Hamas Agree to a Ceasefire-Hostage Release Deal

Two Suspects Wanted After Markham Business Vandalized and Tagged with Antisemitic Graffiti During Robbery

York Regional Police is searching for two suspects after the Markham office of a kosher restaurant business, La Briut, was broken into and vandalized with antisemitic graffiti. In a statement, FSWC reported that the business's Toronto restaurant was also broken into and that property had been stolen. "It’s deeply disheartening that, in 2025, members of the Jewish community still face such vile and targeted hate crimes," said Jaime Kirzner-Roberts, FSWC’s senior director of policy and advocacy. "No one should have to live in fear for their safety or endure harassment and intimidation because of their faith or identity."

Radical Islamic Group Cancels Ontario Conference Under Pressure of Being Named a Terrorist Group

A planned conference by a radical Islamic group that caused outrage and security concerns has been cancelled a day after the federal government said it was considering declaring the organization a terrorist group. FSWC, which issued a statement last week calling for the Canadian government to list the group as a terrorist entity due to its antisemitic, extremist and anti-Western ideology and glorification of terrorism, welcomed the news yesterday.

Man, 19, Charged in Antisemitic Graffiti Incidents

A 19-year-old Winnipeg man has been arrested and charged with 26 counts of mischief in connection with a series of antisemitic graffiti incidents reported between September 28 and December 31, including swastikas and the initials "M.K.Y" - an international neo-Nazi group - that were spray-painted onto a community centre and nearby buildings. Jewish Winnipeg resident Avrom Charach has removed more than 100 graffiti messages or symbols throughout the city since the start of the Israel-Hamas war.

New Order of Canada Member Pinchas Gutter Says His Holocaust Education Work Isn't Over Yet

Holocaust survivor Pinchas Gutter is one of 88 appointees named to the Order of Canada by Governor General Mary Simon last month. Gutter, recognized for decades of work in Holocaust education, says his work is far from over. "I can't stop. I have two great-grandchildren," Gutter told The Current's host Matt Galloway. "And they don't yet know of any [such] thing as antisemitism. And I would like the world for them to [stay like that]."

Nearly Half of World’s Adults Hold Antisemitic Views, ADL Survey Finds

According to the Anti-Defamation League's Global 100 Index, which surveyed some 58,000 people from over 100 countries, 46 per cent of the world’s adult population harbours "deeply entrenched antisemitic attitudes." Young adults are by far more likely than their older peers to have formed negative perceptions of Jews.
