A 30 year-old BritishColumbia woman is among those dead after Saturday'sterrorist attack in the heart of London, England - which has since beenclaimed by the Islamic State terrorist group. Christine Archibald reportedlypassed away in the arms of her fiancé in the aftermath of Saturday'sattack.
2. Gulf States CutDiplomatic Ties with Qatar for Funding Terrorism
In what some are callingperhaps the most serious diplomatic crises in the Gulf region since Iraq'sinvasion of Kuwait in 1991, Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United ArabEmirates have cutall diplomatic ties with Qatar, after making serious allegations that Qatar hasbeen funding terrorism across the region, and the globe. Specifically, theystate that Qatar has been a key financier of the Islamic State terrorist group.But let us never forgetthat 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudis.
3. Nova ScotiaElection Marred by Campaign Signs Defaced with Antisemitic Graffiti
FSWC condemns last week'santisemitic act in Nova Scotia, where provincial election campaignsigns were defaced with racist and antisemitic graffiti. The defacedcampaign signs - one from each of the three major provincial political parties- appeared to have been spray painted with a swastika, the phrase "SiegHeil," and the number '1488' - which is a popular term within neo-Nazi andWhite Supremacist groups. One of the candidates, the NDP's Shelley Fashan, toldCBC that the graffiti "does have racial overtones. That's just ignorance;that's just people being hateful and ignorant. It's not going to deter what Iam doing. It shouldn't deter anybody."
4. The BloqQuebecois Table a Motion to Force Canada to Recognize So-Called PalestinianState
The Bloq Quebecois - aQuebec-based separatist party which holds 10 seats in the House of Commons - tableda motion in Canada's legislature last week which would force Canada torecognize the so-called Palestinian State as a fully independent and sovereignnation. Canada's Foreign Minister, Chrystia Freeland (Liberal), respondedto the motion during question period saying that Canada already recognizes theexistence of the Palestinian people, and added that Canada also recognizes"the right of Israel to live in peace within secure borders and withoutterrorism."
5. Report: Iran Agreesto Renew Funding to Hamas
According to a report in amajor London-based Arabic newspaper, theIslamic Republic of Iran has agreed in principle to a new funding agreementwith the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas - which regularly launchesattacks against Israeli civilians, and has been the sole instigator of twomajor conflicts in the Gaza Strip in the past five years alone. The fundingagreement was reportedly reached after a series of meetings in Lebanon betweenrepresentatives of Hamas, the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, and Iran'sRevolutionary Guards. This funding deal comes on the heels of asimilar agreement Iran reached with pro-Assad militia's operating in the Syriancivil war.
6. Report: ThePalestinian Authority Has Paid Terrorists Over $1 Billion in Past 4 Years
The Palestinian Authority has paid out over $1 billion dollarsto Palestinian terrorists and their families over the past four years,according to the former Director General of Israel's Ministry of StrategicAffairs and ex-head of the Israeli Army's intelligence and research division,Yossi Kuperwasser. Kuperwasser, during remarks given to a top Knesset panellast week, also said that terrorists receive a monthly salary, and that"when they're released, they get a grant and are promised a job at thePalestinian Authority. They get a military rank that's determined according tothe number of years they've served in jail."

ICYMI: United NationsSecretary-General Guterres met with senior officials of theSimon Wiesenthal Center at his offices at UN headquarters in New York. Thediscussion covered a wide range of issues including efforts to make terrorism acrime against humanity, the UN's role in countering burgeoning anti-Semitism inEurope, ending the demonizing and abuse of Israel in and by UN agencies,including UNRWA, UNESCO, and the UN Human Rights Council, and stumbling blockshampering Middle East peace prospects. Rabbi Marvin Hier, Dean and Founderof the leading Jewish human rights NGO, urged the Secretary-General to pave theway for the UN to declare terrorism a crime against humanity. Rabbi Hier said,"There needs to be real consequences for perpetrators and supporters ofterrorist acts like the recent suicide bombing carnage at a concert inManchester, England and the UN must declare that this scourge is a crimeagainst humanity."
