Winnipeg Man Faces Terrorism-Related Charges: Manitoba RCMP
A 19-year-old Winnipeg man previously charged with spray-painting antisemitic graffiti on buildings, fences and other objects is facing terrorism-related charges - including facilitating a terrorist activity, participating in an activity related to a terrorist group and the commission of an offence for a terrorist group, according to the RCMP.

A Toronto judge has decided to sentence an 18-year-old woman to 12 months probation, 40 hours of community service and anger management classes for physically assaulting an octogenarian Jewish man.
Jaime Kirzner-Roberts, senior director of policy and advocacy at Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, told JNS that the outcome of the trial was "outrageous" but unsurprising. "We are seeing across the board, every day, hate criminals seeking to do real harm, including real violence, getting away with a slap on the wrist," she said. "This case—it kind of exemplifies that."
Queen’s University Rules Against Divestment
In a March 13 announcement, Queen's University confirmed its Board of Trustees accepted the Principal’s Review Committee for Responsible Investing’s recommendation against withdrawing its pooled endowment and investment funds from companies operating with or in the State of Israel.
"We commend the Queen's University Board of Trustees for taking a principled stand by rejecting the proposal to divest from companies with ties to Israel," FSWC said in an online statement. "By prioritizing student experience, academic programming and institutional neutrality, they have upheld the university’s commitment to inclusiveness and academic integrity. This important decision sends a strong message against the divisive and harmful tactics of the BDS movement."

The US Justice Department announced the leadership team and members of a newly assembled task force designed to "seek justice" for victims of Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023 massacre in southern Israel. Joint Task Force October 7 will place an emphasis on "targeting, charging, and securing for prosecution in the United States the direct perpetrators of the Oct. 7 attack," the Justice Department said in a press release.
‘New Chapter’: Syrian Druze Clerics Enter Israel for First Pilgrimage Since 1948
A delegation of around 60 Syrian Druze clerics crossed into Israel on Friday for their community’s first pilgrimage to a revered shrine since Israel’s creation in 1948. In the fall of 2024, Amy Williams, a researcher, unearthed a trove of information about the Kindertransport rescue mission that brought nearly 10,000 Jewish children from Nazi Germany to Britain between December 1938 and September 1939.
