Man Convicted of Threatening to Bomb ‘Every’ Toronto Synagogue, ‘Kill as Many Jews as Possible’

A 42-year-old man has been convicted of threatening death and property damage after he expressed plans to bomb every synagogue in Toronto and "kill as many Jews as possible" to a witness at a car dealership north of Toronto.

“The idea that a person is threatening to commit mass murder, that they are threatening to blow up buildings across the city, and that they are charged with simply uttering a threat, it’s outrageous,” said FSWC Senior Director of Policy and Advocay Jaime Kirzner-Roberts, who will be delivering a victim impact statement at the sentencing on May 8.

A man was recently found guilty of assault for spitting on a Jewish couple leaving synagogue and praising Hitler, including shouting "Hitler should have killed you all," early last year. He will be sentenced on May 8.

Downtown Coffee Shop Vandalized 3 Times, MP Alleges Antisemitism

Goldstruck Coffee, a coffee shop in downtown Toronto, has been vandalized three times in the past year, including twice in one week. The business is owned by a Jewish family, and while Toronto police are not currently investigating the vandalism as hate crimes, that could change at any point in the investigation.

Tenants Alarmed After Swastikas, N-Word Found in Côte-St-Luc Apartment Building

A rental building in Côte-St-Luc, Quebec has become the target of hate-filled vandalism over the last few weeks. Earlier this week, a resident found a swastika scrawled on the bathroom door in a common area of the building, the second time in a week that the antisemitic symbol had been seen. Over the last few weeks, the word "ni--a", with a line crossed through it, was also found, as well as the word "Jew."
