FSWC and B'nai Brith Urge Canada to Publicly Disavow Durban IV

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) and B'nai Brith Canada call on the Canadian government to take a principled stand in defence of its core values by disavowing the Durban IV conference and publicly affirming Canada’s refusal to participate. Durban IV is a series of events to be held by the United Nations in September, marking the 20th anniversary of a 2001 “World Conference on Racism” that turned into an anti-Jewish and anti-Israel hatefest.

Diplomats and community leaders from Canada, Morocco, Israel and the U.S. came together on Sunday to celebrate a new exciting partnership between Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center and Association Mimouna, an organization dedicated to honouring and preserving Morocco’s rich Jewish heritage.

The Origins of Canadian Jewish Heritage Month

With so many Jewish cultural events happening in May—film festivals, literary celebrations and the Walk with Israel, not to mention the Israeli holidays of Independence Day and Yom HaShoah—it’s no accident that the Canadian government, in 2018, announced May would be Canadian Jewish Heritage Month.

Proud Boys Canada Dissolves Itself, Says It Was Never a 'White Supremacy' Group

Proud Boys Canada, a far-right group that Ottawa named as a terrorist entity earlier this year, has dissolved itself, saying it has done nothing wrong, according to a statement by the organization on Sunday.

"We welcome this news and commend Canada's government for its protection of public safety by designating Proud Boys as a terrorist entity. Hate groups remain a serious concern and threat, however, and our leaders and all Canadians must be ever more vigilant," FSWC stated in an online post.

Holocaust Survivor Who Testified Against Eichmann Dies at 91

Joseph Zalman Kleinman, a Holocaust survivor who survived the Auschwitz death camp and testified against Adolf Eichmann in the Nazi commander's trial in Jerusalem, died Tuesday, Israeli media reported. He was 91.

Hundreds in Ukraine Attend Marches Celebrating Nazi SS Soldiers

Hundreds of Ukrainians attended marches celebrating Nazi SS soldiers, including the first such event in Kyiv. The so-called Embroidery March took place in the capital on April 28, the 78th anniversary of the establishment of the 14th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS, also known as the 1st Galician.
