FSWC Confident Latest Bid to Blacklist Israeli Wines Will Be Rejected

FSWC is confident that a further challenge to the decision by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) rejecting an individual's bid to remove Israeli wines from LCBO stores will be rejected. In July 2017, CFIA reversed its decision that required LCBO vendors to discontinue the importation of wines from the West Bank labelled as "Product of Israel." An internal appeal of that decision was  brought by an individual and rejected by the CFIA in September 2017, prompting the individual's application in Federal Court for judicial review filed earlier last week.
