Canada's Minister of National Defence Harjit Sajjan told the Canadian Jewish Record that he had a "productive" conversation with Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center last week and wants to assure Canadians that the Canadian Armed Forces treats the issue of white supremacy and extremism in the military "with the utmost seriousness."

Today marks the 75th anniversary of the official end of the Second World War. On this day, the most deadly and destructive conflict in human history was finally over. Historian Tim Cook says Canadian soldiers, 55,000 of whom were left physically and mentally scarred, were eager to forget the war or were reluctant to discuss it, contributing to Canadians' lack of engagement with the country's experiences during the Second World War.
TikTok Announces 'Zero Tolerance' Policy on Antisemitism
In an August 20 blog post titled "Countering Hate on TikTok," the social media platform declared a "zero tolerance" policy on accounts that have been linked to instances of antisemitism as well as other forms of bigotry. However, other users are still known to make inappropriate jokes and comments of an antisemitic nature on the app.
