The sun was shining on Tuesday as more than 2,000 students from across the Greater Toronto Area came together in a celebration of freedom and human rights at Yonge-Dundas Square.

The 8th annual Freedom Day, sponsored by TD Bank Group and hosted by Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) in honour of Holocaust survivor and Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal, featured Holocaust survivor Max Eisen and former white supremacist Christian Picciolini, who took the stage to share their personal stories and inspire students to stand up against hatred and intolerance.

Co-chaired by FSWC members Daryl and Derek Erdman and MC'd by Rick Campanelli, the event also featured Speaker's Idol contestants Kellie and Cora, energizing performances by Sole Power, a special video message from Sophie Grégoire Trudeau and a beautiful performance by Mimi O'Bonsawin.

A big thank you to everyone who came out in support of Freedom Day, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
