December 13, 2016 -Toronto:  Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for HolocaustStudies (FSWC) is concerned for the fate of the people of Aleppo, and urges theUN Security Council to end the carnage and reach a political solution to the endlessbloodshed.

“This is simply a horrific human tragedy,” said FSWCPresident and CEO Avi Benlolo. “The United Nations had over five years toaddress Bashar al-Assad’s merciless war against his own people, to prevent hisuse of chemical weapons and to end the slaughter of children in hospitals. Theunbearable suffering of the Syrian people is a direct result of the UN’s myopiaregarding the atrocities committed by Assad. Our hearts and prayers are withthe citizens of Aleppo today.”
