FSWC Advancing Human Rights Every Day

 
March 25, 2019 – Even while the world awoke to a devastating missile attack against Israel from Hamas controlled Gaza Strip,Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) works to advance human rights on a daily basis through its educational programs.

 Today, FSWC’s Tour for Humanity will be visiting St.Julia Billiart School in Markham Ontario, part of the York Region Catholic District School Board. The organization is also teaching Lessons and Legacies of the Holocaust at Ursula Franklin Academy in Toronto, part of Toronto District School Board. On Friday, the organization presented to the Ontario Power Generation staff as part of their equity and inclusivity program and spoke to a Toronto Mosque as part of an effort to build bridges.

 This week, in addition to tolerance training classes,FSWC will be hosting its annual Speaker’s Idol event on Thursday March 28th at 7.00 pm.  Student finalists will share their ideas on how to create positive change in the world as they compete on the best speech around the theme– “I believe in the good in people”.
