Toronto (September 20, 2019) – Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is calling on the NDP to break ties with a candidate who allegedly appeared in a video teaching viewers how to affix anti-Israel stickers to Israeli grocery store products.

Miranda Gallo, NDP Candidate for the downtown Montreal riding of St. Laurent, is allegedly a staffer at the anti-Israel group “Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East” (CJPME). The group put Gallo’s ‘how to’ video on its YouTube channel as part of its antisemitic campaign calling on Canadians to boycott Israeli products. The stickers read, “Warning, Do Not Buy This Product, Made in Israel.”

FSWC has reached out to the NDP leader Jagmeet Singh’s office with its request that the party drop Gallo, and is awaiting a response.

To share concerns with Singh about this candidate, Canadians can contact him at Jagmeet.Singh@ndp.ca.
