FSWC Commends Toronto Police on Quick Action in Case of Elderly Man Marked with Swastika

Toronto (January 10, 2020) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) commends the Toronto Police for arresting a man in connection to an incident that left an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer’s with a swastika drawn on his head in permanent black marker.

The incident occurred at a long-term care facility in Toronto’s west end called Glendale Care Centre.

Toronto Police report that the investigation is still underway and charges are pending against the accused perpetrator.

This week, FSWC had spoken with the victims family, met with staff at Glendale and actively pressed police for a full investigation into this incident.
