TORONTO (May 25, 2018) - Friendsof Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is concerned over today’s allegations ofantisemitism in the Ontario NDP Party.

During a news conference thismorning, the Ontario PCs accused NDP candidate Tasleem Riaz of sharing apro-Nazi meme with a quote from Hitler on social media. Following theconference, the Ontario PC Party posted an image of Riaz’s post, which datesback to 2013. Riaz also reportedly accused Canadian soldiers of war crimes. Over 40,000 Canadians were killed in action and 100,000wounded liberating Europe from the Nazis. 

FSWC calls for further investigation into this matter and callsfor all political parties to ensure all candidates practice inclusivity,diversity and acceptance of all citizens.
