Toronto (July 9, 2018) - Friends of Simon WiesenthalCenter (FSWC) is concerned over an announcement that a group of Hasidic Jews inSainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec are being forced by a Superior Court injunctionto leave their residence for allegedly using the residence as a place ofworship.

Mayor Denis Chalifoux claimed the group is violatinglocal bylaws and holding loud gatherings that disturb neighbours.

“In cases like this, a thorough investigationmust be made into the complaints to ensure antisemitism has not played a rolein seeking the residence to be vacated,” said FSWC president and CEO AviBenlolo.
