Toronto (March 12, 2019) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) denounces the ongoing distribution of Your Ward News in Toronto, despite the recent hate crime conviction against the paper’s publisher and editor.

Your Ward News has reportedly made its way to homes in several Toronto neighbourhoods, including the Upper Beaches, Riverdale and Leslieville.

According to its website, issues between March 2015 and Summer 2018 are no longer available for public view, but the most recent issues are still available.

“It’s disappointing and frustrating to see that despite the fact that a judge has determined the publication willfully promotes hatred against women and Jewish people, it is still freely being distributed to homes throughout Toronto and is readily available online,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “The fight will not end until there is a complete shutdown of this disturbing and hate-filled paper, meaning it is off the streets, off the web and completely discontinued.”

A sentencing hearing is scheduled to take place in April.
