Today the Tour for Humanity was north of Newmarket in Keswick. Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) Educator Elena worked with students between Grades 5 and 8. Elena taught 5 workshops throughout the day, 4 of the Canadian Experience and 1 Simon's Story. The school had done a lot of work in preparation for our visit and it was a pleasure to work with all of the groups because of their extensive knowledge about the Holocaust.
There were tons of questions throughout the day and Elena did her best to answer them.
A few examples:
Was Hitler's mom Jewish?
Was India involved with World War II?
Were the Nazis all on meth?
Did John A MacDonald create the residential schools?
Elena also had a couple students raise the question of whether Hitler really died at the end of the war or if he escaped. Elena was THRILLED to tell them that we now have 100% definitive proof that Hitler died in 1945 following the findings of French scientists who were allowed to examine the dental remains possessed by Russia that had always been claimed to be Hitler's. They said there is no doubt that they are in fact Hitler's teeth and Elena was spreading the word far and wide!
