TORONTO (June 16, 2017) – Friends ofSimon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) has released a petition that calls on theleaders of Ontario to prohibit Al Quds Day – which is scheduled for June 24 –from taking place at Queen’s Park.

“We callon our leaders to stop antisemitism and hate and to ensure the safety andsecurity of the Jewish community from incitement to violence,” the petitionstates.

Each year theIranian-backed, state-sponsored event claims to promote solidarity withPalestinians – when in reality it calls for the destruction of Israel and violenceagainst Jewish people.

As mentioned in thepetition, previous speakers at Al Quds Day events have called for Israelis tobe shot and showed support for terrorism and violence.
