Canadian Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) is marking 9/11 by encouraging its members to light a memorial candle in memory of more than 3,000 innocent people who were murdered by terrorists.
On September 11, 2001, two planes were crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City while a third plane was crashed into the Pentagon and a fourth into a field in Pennsylvania. Driven by hate and intolerance, the terrorists induced the biggest terrorist attack in America's history and in recent times.
"Today we remember the innocent men and women who perished, including the brave firemen and police officers who demonstrated heroism on that day. We shall continue to keep their memory alive by countering hate and intolerance through education and advocacy," said Avi Benlolo, President and CEO of FSWC. "Together, we can all make a difference by making our world a better place."
