Today on International Women’s Day, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) celebrates the courage and achievements of women and stands in support of the ongoing fight for women’s rights and gender equality around the world.
“Today we celebrate the vital contributions of women in all aspects of society and recognize the ongoing struggle for women’s rights and gender equality across the globe,” said FSWC president and CEO Avi Benlolo. “The women’s rights movement is a critical part of advancing human rights, freedom and justice for all.”
Through daily educational workshops, FSWC empowers young people to stand up for human rights and equality, including women’s rights, and become change-makers in their communities. Its Women’s Rights Are Human Rights workshop educates and encourages discussions among students about past and current women’s rights issues and what steps can be taken to effect positive change.
