CANADA – January 23, 2019 – Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is carefully reviewing reports about a Nazi book procured by Library and Archives Canada that was owned by Adolf Hitler.

According to reports, “information within the book would have been the building blocks for Hitler to carry out his Final Solution plan for the eradication of all Jewish people in North America had the Nazis won the Second World War.”

“First and foremost, our policy as an organization is that Nazi artifacts are best placed in museums, libraries and archives where they can be available for study by historians and students with an interest in the Holocaust. Therefore, while we support this acquisition for the purpose of education by reputable institutions like Library and Archives Canada, we in no way support the private and public sale of Nazi era memorabilia which venerate Hitler and Nazism,” said Avi Benlolo, president and CEO of FSWC.

According to Benlolo: “This finding already sheds important new information about Hitler’s objective to conquer America and Canada and initiate wide-scale genocide against its Jewish inhabitants and others. For researchers, educators and scholars alike, this information will transform the way we think about the Holocaust and neo-Nazis and white supremacists who live within our midst today.”
