Toronto (March 23, 2020) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) commends the Ontario government for its decision to provide $200 million in social services relief funding to protect the province's most vulnerable people amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

According to a statement released earlier today, the province will provide funding to municipalities and organizations that administer social services - including shelters, food banks, emergency services, charities and non-profits.

"Now more than ever, vulnerable people and communities are in need of assistance and support from the government," said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. "We commend the Ontario government for taking this action and encourage all provinces to take similar steps in increasing their support for organizations and individuals that are most in need during these difficult and uncertain times."
