Toronto (March 19, 2019) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is standing against another anti-Israel demonstration being hosted by the Canadian BDS Coalition in Toronto.

The “Cross-Canada Day of Action” is being held on May 18 in downtown Toronto. The organizers claim there is a “new majority” across Canada that’s against Israel.

“Canada has and will always maintain strong relations with Israel,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “The protest should instead be called a ‘day of antisemitism,’ as protests such as this one promote the antisemitic BDS movement and unfairly target and call for the destruction of Israel and its Jewish civilians. Anti-Israel protests are notorious for using antisemitic slurs and making false allegations against Israel, all while failing to recognize the terrorism and crimes committed by Hamas and Palestinian civilians.”
