TORONTO (October 18, 2017) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) is asking the public to inform their local police if copies of "Your Ward News" were recently delivered to their homes or businesses so to assist in the ongoing investigation into a hate complaint made by FSWC.

FSWC has received reports that the publication was delivered to addresses in the North York area of Toronto, an area with a large Jewish population. This follows similar complaints in other areas in the GTA and surrounding areas recently.

Earlier this year, a petition launched by FSWC to call upon Ontario's Attorney General, Yasir Naqvi, to respond to the Jewish community's concerns regarding hate crime-related complaints, including "Your Ward News," received wide community response.

"We do not have to tolerate hate on our doorsteps. As the investigation into the publication is ongoing, it is crucial that police be made aware of each incident," said  Avi Benlolo, President and CEO of FSWC.

Those living in the Toronto area can report the delivery of copies of "Your Ward News" to Toronto Police at 416-808-2222.

To track antisemitism and hate crime, FSWC has a running list of incidents across the country which can be found on its website at www.fswc.ca under the antisemitism tab.
