FSWC Welcomes Canada’s Recent Mutual Recognition Arrangement with Israel

TORONTO (August 1, 2017) – FSWC congratulates Canada andIsrael on the recent decision to establish a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA).This allows for more efficient trade between the two countries by “providingstreamlined border processes to pre-approved, low-risk traders,” according to astatement released by the Government of Canada.

“This arrangement not onlyimproves trade relations between the two democratic countries, but also plays arole in strengthening the Canada-Israel relationship – which is extremelyencouraging to see,” said Avi Benlolo, FSWC President and CEO.

A formal announcement was madeyesterday by the Honourable Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety andEmergency Preparedness, after he met with Israeli Public Security MinisterGilad Erdan.

This news comes a day after theGovernment of Canada announced it will be contributing $168,011 to the PeresCenter for Peace and Innovation in Israel to train and empower young leaders aspeace advocates in the Middle East.
