Last night, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) hosted its annual State of the Union event, featuring Jewish activists Bari Weiss, Noa Tishby and Eve Barlow who, through dynamic conversation and inspirational story-telling, discussed their experiences on the front lines combatting Jew-hatred and defending Israel and the impact social media has had on the rise of antisemitism.

State of the Union: Fighting Back Against Hate took place virtually and was moderated by award-winning news broadcaster Jamie Gutfreund. More than 3,000 people across Canada and beyond tuned in to the event.

State of the Union is an annual event hosted by FSWC. Every year, the event welcomes speakers such as former politicians and human rights activists to share their insights on international issues with hundreds of members of the local Jewish community.

Funds raised from the evening contributed to the important work of FSWC in educating Canadians on the lessons of the Holocaust and fighting antisemitism and other forms of hate.
