Montreal to Hold First Ever Public Consultation on Systemic Racism and Discrimination

Toronto (August 17, 2018) - Friends of Simon WiesenthalCenter (FSWC) is pleased to learn that the city of Montreal will be holding itsfirst ever public consultation on systemic racism and discrimination.

This comes after a petition demanding public hearings on theissue received 20,000 signatures. The petition was presented at City Hall inJuly and approved today.

“One of the best ways to successfully counter any type ofhatred and discrimination in our communities is by having productivediscussions about the issues people have faced and what can be done to makecommunities more inclusive and supportive of diversity,” said FSWC Presidentand CEO Avi Benlolo.
