Toronto (March 22, 2019) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) condemns hate vandalism that was recently reported to police in London, Ontario.

According to reports, a swastika was found etched on the door of a home belonging to a newcomer Muslim family just a day after the New Zealand mass shooting.

“Nobody should be made to feel unsafe or targeted, especially here in Canada where we celebrate diversity and freedom,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “In hate vandalism cases such as this one, it’s very difficult to find the perpetrator, so anyone who has information about the incident is being urged to reach out to police.

London Police Service informed FSWC that the vandalism is being investigated as a hate crime.
