TORONTO (August 18, 2017) – Friends of SimonWiesenthal Center (FSWC) is disturbed by the recent discovery of neo-Naziflyers stuffed into mailboxes in East Vancouver. The flyers advertise apro-Hitler documentary that claims to tell the truth about Nazi Germany.
“These types of pro-Hitler advertisements promote the falseclaims made by neo-Nazis and Holocaust deniers, which should not be welcomed inCanada,” said Avi Benlolo, FSWC President and CEO. “I hope that law enforcementtakes this matter seriously and charges the distributors of this hatefulpropaganda.”
This incident comes ahead of Saturday’s plannedanti-immigration rally in Vancouver. Organizers behind the event have allegedlyused social media to celebrate the violence that took place in Charlottesville.
Racist flyers have been found in the Vancouver area numeroustimes in the past, including in Abbotsford, Richmond and New Westminster.
FSWC continues to track antisemitic incidents that takeplace throughout Canada on a daily basis. Visit www.fswc.caand click on the antisemitism tab to learn about incidents taking place in yourprovince or territory.
