TORONTO (September 19, 2017) - FSWC urges ongoing vigilance asonce again antisemitic and racist graffiti was reported, this time at a Kitchener skatepark. The graffiti included a racial slur spray painted above ahangman figure as well as a swastika over the number 88.
FSWC reached out to the Waterloo Regional Police Inclusionand Equity Officer, who indicated that the graffiti will be cleaned up. A local high school teacher who reported the graffiti to the city spray painted over the graffiti with the message “#NotInMyKW.”
“Vigilance and quick action isrequired when these visual acts of hate are spotted," said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “It’s critical for communitymembers to continue to report hateful graffiti to the city and police as soonas they see it. We should be guided by a zero tolerance for hate in our communities no matter what form it takes.”
