Toronto (October 9, 2018) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is pleased to learn that Saskatchewan’s Deputy Premier, Gordon Wyant, and Trade and Export Development Minister, Jeremy Harrison, are on a trade mission to Israel this week.

The mission is focused on identifying new trade opportunities, highlighting investment opportunities in Saskatchewan,and encouraging Israeli companies to establish a presence in the province. The deputy premier and minister are meeting with government officials and leaders in business, technology and research.

“Following a successful recent visit by Canada’s minister of international trade diversification, it’s nice to see provinces also taking steps to build stronger ties with Israel,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “Governments around the world are continuing to stand up against the hate-filled, anti-Israel BDS movement and are recognizing the benefits of maintaining a positive relationship with the country.”

According to the province, Saskatchewan’s exports to Israel have grown 30% over the last five years, with more than $19 million in goods exported last year.
