SIMON WIESENTHAL CENTER CONDEMNS HORRIFIC ATTACK AGAINST WORSHIPPERS AT CAIRO CHURCH
Jerusalem-The Simon Wiesenthal Center condemned today's deadly terrorist attack during services at a Coptic church in Cairo which murdered and maimed 60 people at prayer.
"This horrific attack is only the latest targeting Christians in the Middle East, including Iraq and Syria. If the rights of religious minorities aren't protected by governments; if families have to fear for their safety when going to their houses of worship, then there is no hope for a stable and peaceful Middle East," said Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a leading Jewish human rights NGO, in a statement from Jerusalem.
"We urge the incoming American administration to do more to help Egyptian authorities overcome the continuing scourge of terrorist attacks targeting innocent civilians," Rabbi Cooper concluded.
