Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) has learned that Guelph Police Service is investigating after a swastika was found spray painted on a sidewalk in the City of Guelph.
“The swastika is a symbol of hate that must be taken seriously when graffitied in our communities,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “Anytime a hate symbol is involved in a vandalism case, police must treat it as a hate-motivated crime and put more effort into finding the perpetrator.”
Police were notified of the graffiti earlier this week and are calling on anyone with information to contact police at 519-824-1212 ext. 7537.
