Toronto (January 15, 2018) –Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) has learnedthat Toronto Police have concluded their investigation into the report that wasfiled by a Grade 6 student, who on Friday reported that she was attacked whileon her way to school and had her hijab cut off.
The police have determined thatthe events as described in their news release of that day did not happen.
“We at FSWC join others,including the Toronto District School Board, in stating that we are thankfulthat the assault as reported did not happen,” said Avi Benlolo, President andCEO of FSWC. “We commend Toronto Police for investigating thecircumstances of this alleged hate crime with the seriousness it deserved.”
