Toronto (November 29, 2017) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) has learned that Corus Entertainment terminated host Gary Bell of the weekly show “A View From Space”, aired on its AM640 station, following complaints of alleged antisemitic content.

The station offered an on-air apology to its listeners regarding the content of the November 11 broadcast focused on conspiracy theories about world domination, stating that these comments “included remarks and viewpoints that ran counter to Corus Entertainment’s policies about discrimination...” and that Bell’s “comments were unacceptable and problematic, in that they included references and material that could only be viewed as anti-Semitic.”

FSWC has since reached out to Corus Entertainment and the station offering tolerance training as they look for “strong and immediate steps to ensure such an episode is never repeated.”

This incident comes just as a Winnipeg campus radio station suspended a show after antisemitic conspiracy theories by a guest went unchallenged.
