Toronto’s faith leaders join in interfaith Holocaust Remembrance Day commemoration, stand in solidarity with Jewish community

TORONTO – On May 2, Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) will be joined by faith leaders from across Toronto in recognition of Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day – to pay respects to the 6 million Jewish lives lost in the Holocaust and to stand up against the rising tide of antisemitism and hate around the world.  

More than 20 leaders from the First Nations, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh and Baha'i communities will be in attendance – in addition to Holocaust survivors, government officials and community members – to participate in a public prayer for victims of the Holocaust and a candle-lighting ceremony in solidarity with the Jewish community.
