FSWC is extremely satisfied withUBC’s vote against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against thestate of Israel. The students at UBC have effectively voted for acceptance andtolerance, and in favour of an approach that fosters peace and democracy in theMiddle East. Since the BDS movement has been condemned by the Parliament ofCanada and outlawed in nearly 20 U.S. states – and support of the movement isconsidered a misalignment with contemporary definitions of antisemitism – thisis a positive choice made by the university.
