TORONTO (February 18, 2018) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) is shocked to learn of disturbing hate mail reportedly received at the Windsor Jewish Community Centre on Friday.

The Windsor police confirmed that they have a filed report of hate material - which calls for the expulsion of Jews, borrowing on medieval images and references - being delivered to the community centre. FSWC has been in touch with the community centre and the Windsor police offering its support as the hate crime investigation unfolds.

“This hate mail is clearly intended to spark fear in the Jewish community by promoting hate and violence in a very disturbing way,” said FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo. “Anyone with information is encouraged to call their local police as soon as possible to assist in the investigation.”

This incident follows on hate mail calling for Jews to perish, which was sent to synagogues and professional offices across Canada late last year.
